Becoming a CFE member is easy and affordable. With just a $10 membership fee and your first $5 deposit, you can expect friendly service, affordable, tailored financial services and products, and access to discounts on everyday products and services. Who Can Join

Credit unions are for everyone! By definition, credit unions serve a "field of membership" made up of people who share a common bond. CFE's field of membership is based on a community charter. Anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, or Lake County may join. Qualified businesses and other entities may join as well. If you become a member of CFE, your immediate family members are automatically eligible to join. Immediate family members include parents, children, grandparents, siblings, spouse, and stepparents.

In less than ten minutes, using the simple and secure online application, you can apply to open a savings account, checking account, money market and/or share certificate. You may also add a debit card and online banking with Bill Payer to enjoy even greater convenience.

Stop by any of our branch locations and a CFE employee will be happy to assist you with the steps to become a CFE member. If you are thinking of joining but still have questions, our branch staff will answer any question you may have to help you determine if CFE is right for you.  Once you've made your decision to join, account setup is a quick and easy process. We can even provide you with an instant-issue debit card for your immediate financial needs.

Applying to become a CFE member is easy when you call our Contact Center during standard business hours. After your acceptance, a Member Service Representative can assist you with your account setup while also answering any questions you might have about being a CFE member.

$10 for membership fee


$5 for minimum balance requirement for Share Savings account

  • Current utility bill (within the last 30 days)
  • Current vehicle registration
  • Current lease or rental agreement
  • Current mortgage documents/coupons
  • Current voters registration card
  • Bank statements (within the last 30 days)
  • Paystubs (within the last 30 days)
  • Official mail (IRS documents, mail from credit card accounts, home or auto insurance, or court documents)
